Sleep Like a Baby

From the CTP MkII

First Impression: it doesn't deserves so low score, IMO. Cute girl.

Composition: Maybe a bit too centered subject, needs some dynamism.

Subject: Nice idea and good cliche. You've selected a wonderful girl, but maybe a little "old" to be considered a baby.

Technical: I think the main problem with the score of this photo comes from the lightening. In interiors I think that is very difficult to lighten properly without the experience and equipment many DPCers have. I don't know how to explain it but lights doesn't look professional. And voters are very cruel with this... that's DPC.

Improvement: basically the light (see up^^).

Summary: Nice idea and subject but needs a bit more work on lightening.

From the CTP MkII

First Impression: I like it. Dynamic.

Composition: Like composition for this challenge, as you keep moving from one side of the image to other.

Subject: Beautiful. I love boats. Aren't they a wonderful subject for photography?

Technical: the colours are a little bit washed IMHO. I think they need some more saturation and texture, but maybe it's just my monitor. The white of the upper boat is blowed.

Improvement: It's a pitty it was basic editing, if not you could work a little bit more the boats to recover more colour.

Summary: Very good comp, very good for the challenge, needs a bit more saturarion and texture.

From the CTP MkII

First Impression: Seems you where not right... it has worked well. A very nice shot that captures the viewer.
Composition: Great. From right to left, from up and down to the center. It really creates a rhythm.
Subject: curious, very curios indeed. It makes the viewer ask about what are you looking at.
Technical: great focus and use of DOF. The colors are nice. The only flaw is the colour noise.
Improvement: The sky is a bit blowed. IMO it would have worked better without the buildings (I know, they were there, you couldn't help it...LOL). If the first man were looking at the camera this shot would have scored much better. The noise: it happens sometimes to me that set the camera to high levels of ISO and forget to correct them later.
Summary: a really wonderful shot with some small flaws. Good job.

really wonderful.
Like the composition, very dynamic and the crop is OK.
The colors and white balance is great, in a dificult conditions, I guess. The sharpness is good.
The subject is funny, you captured the moment very well and you include all the important things in the shot.
To improve: sorry, but I can't think of anything. like it this way.
Well done.

Very nice shot and good score, Gunnar.
Composition is very dynamic, with your elements well distributed in the image, but to me there too much black in the image, maybe you could capture a bit of detail in your subject.
About the colors, good use of silhouettes in black and color of BG.
To improve: It seems you had some problems in the jpeg conversion because there are some visible artifacts, not very sure why.
Overall, a nice image that needs, IMO, more details in the subject.

Nice shot with a really adecuate crop. You captured well an action moment. Composition is nice, with the diagonal created by the girl in red. The colors seem a bit washed to me, maybe you could work it to have little more contrast. The focus is OK, but sharpness in your subject could be a little more tack.
To improve: the BG is a bit distracting, with that people on a tent.
Good job overall.

Álex.

This is another nice portrait, but IMO I preffer the other one for the model expression. Seems a bit forced here to me, but maybe it's just me. The one thing I preffer of this one is that the hair doen't distracts on the bottom left. Wonderful lighting in both portraits.

Wonderful portrait here. Very uncommon pose, the composition works great for me. The expression of the model is great and the DOF perfect. Maybe the hair on the bottom right is a bit distracting for me. Nice job.

First of all: nice shot. I think your subject is quite interesting. Composition: the shape of the boat creates a dinamyc composition, but I would prefered to see the free space on the right, better than on the left (the boat seems to go from left to right).
Focus: it lacks a bit of sharpness, but maybe this is because of the camera you shot with.
Conclusion: well done.

Very nice shot. You captured very well the mood, that moment of joy. The vigneting helps to look at the man (but maybe it's a little too much). The focus is sharp in the right man and the motorbike, but I think I would have prefered to see both of them focused. The tones are great.
Nice job.
