A literal depiction of a classic tale. For me it would have been more poignant if the leaf was still on the tree, the only one left. The yellow works well on the blue/grey background but perhaps the leaf could have been a tad sharper. A 5 from me.

6...such a good story. As far as this photograph, I enjoy the contrast between the warm golden leaf and the cool hard ground. I might have tried cloning out the stem on the left there and the one at the top right. I find the vignette is fighting the composition as it's too centered. The image would have been fine without it, or if the center of the vignetting were over the actual leaf.

A very fitting image for the story, or vice versa. The yellow leaf contrasts nicely against the damp soil (from the storm that knocked the last leaf off?) and stones. Would have maybe moved the pine needles, but it doesn't really distract. 7

Well yes, it is a leaf. Nice beefed up colours, but apart from it being a leaf it does not connect me to O Henry's short story (not a novel) in which the last leaf falls unseen and is replaced by a painting of a leaf which never falls. 3
Not a helpful comment really. I must not have been drinking.(!)I was nitpicking about the story. My problem with the photo is really visual. It looks like too many of my own photos best forgotten, always trying to fish something from what I happen upon; here you have milked the colours just as I would have - amazing the colours of stone, and you have framed a composition of sorts - simple elements, rule of thirds, contrast, but the lighting is not interesting or natural, unless that is a vignette. A picture has to be more. Just wait for it. Bumping to a 4 just because I have succeeded in annoying myself.

The yellow line on the left really helps the composition. So does the contrast between yellow and blue. But now I've run out of things to say about the image. 4
