Mineral Flowersby lumbusComment: These crystals have some interesting texture to them. The range of colors is nice too. This looks like it may have been a bit overprocessed in the photo editing software. Or, it may just be a result of the harsh direct flash lighting. In the future, when taking pictures of close-up objects, you may try using the exposure compensation feature of your camera if it has one. This shot would have been nicer with maybe a -1 EV exposure compensation. *5* -balynch |

untitledby darylbrownComment: These crystals have a nice texture to them. I think that lighting them from behind would have provided a neat effect. Technically, the focus is sharp and the exposure is correct. The glare from the crystal in the center of the frame is a bit distracting, but it does not ruin the photograph by any means. Nice job. *6* -balynch |

Arion aterby UberFishComment: The subject matter in this photograph does not appeal to me, but it fits the idea of texture very well. Technically, the main subject is sharp and the background is nicely out of focus. The exposure is also correct. One thing that hurts the quality, however, is the JPEG compression artifacts. The picture is only 44K in file size and the rules allow up to 150K. Saving this picture at a higher JPEG quality level would have improved the detail. *5* -balynch |

gemstonesby mcmurmaComment: This photograph has nice color, but texture doesn't seem to be a primary element. Technically, the focus is sharp and the exposure is correct. This picture does not do anything for me artistically though. However, this would have made a great entry for the "Transparency" challenge. *4* -balynch |

curves, lines and contrastby olyaComment: An absolutely stunning texture!!! The dry, almost petrified looking wood really contrasts with the delicate feather. Focus is sharp except for the very top edge of the frame, and the exposure is right on. *8* -balynch |

Dimensions Of Colourby marifeComment: Very nice looking texture. The only thing I thing could be improved is the depth-of-field so that the paint in the foreground is in focus. *6* -balynch |

risenby censuraComment: I personally have no problem with this, but it is probably not a good subject for this forum. The blood in the subject simply overpowers any texture aspect that might be there. *4* -balynch |

Making Wavesby JeanComment: Nice choice of texture and contrasting light and dark colors. *7* -balynch |

Not as fluffy as he seems!by PointComment: Wow--really nice shot. I like the detail in the eyelids and the feathers. Overall, I would give this a 7--the only thing I can see that could be improved is the focus around the beak, however, I know that may be a limitation of the camera since this is such a close-up macro shot. *7* -balynch |
