The Sun's Farewellby jjenksComment by photom: Beautiful colors and layering effect. It would be much stronger if the sun were more to one side instead of dead center. |

Beethovan's Appassionataby jjenksComment by knklove: Nice take and nice shot- I have to say the first thing I noticed was the crease at the bottom of the book. I also think it would be a better shot if the keys and the book were a little more white. |

Work vs Hobby - The Camera Waits Patientlyby jjenksComment by jpochard: Hello from the Critique Club!
I can really relate to this choice... and I think most of us here on the site can...so it's a great idea for the challenge I think.
I really like the use of dof here. It tells a story and gets the point across very nicely.
For the window, I'm wondering if you could have shot the photo lower, bringing the camera down and ending your shot with just a bit of the window showing above your head, and it would show more of your legs and seating area as well? That might have depended on the position of your mirror, but I think it might have been a way around your trouble with the bright window.
I'm not sure how to get rid of that reflection in the camera lens. It is a bit distracting, but in my opinion I don't think it really takes away too much from the shot.
I think you did a good job and I look forward to seeing your challenge shots from here on. Hope this has been helpful!
