JelloPhotog,
I agree with some of the posters here that this was an unfair DQ. I have been nothing more than an observer here DPC for some time, and have had a chance to extinguish my own bias for many of the challenge entries. From what I have read of most of the rules @ DPC, it seems to me that while these are 'digital' photo contests, the council is attempting to 'challenge' the photographer/artists by using only the simple/classic darkroom techniques. With this particular image, there are masking & "light painting" techniques used in standard darkrooms that produce this same effect by overexposing targeted areas of the film. Many of the old "photo-frauders" used this technique to create UFO's on film images. I apologize for such a long post. In closing, I will say again this entry was unfairly DQ'd as I believe the council overlooked this classic technique.

Finally, some justice! I have grown so sick and tired of images on DPChallenge being entered and winning that violate the rules form the OVER use of Photoshop. FINALLY, the powers that be have made the CORRECT decision and DQed one!!! It's about FREAKING TIME!

Really cool composition! Makes me think there should be a scarcrow hanging off and old post there on the corner. I love this shot. Very nice...!

Very pretty picture. Soft, easy to look at. Rather interesting pose as well. Attractive model. Kinda looks like you. Is it?

I like this picture, but wish that the light were more focused on the needle rather than the ribs.

Sorry for your DQ. Maybe the couch was considered a major element?

What a beautiful picture. Sorry about the DQ, Babe. It really doesn't matter what the SC thinks. It's the image that counts.

It is totally! Read this thread all though I dont like to stir up stuff but I do like try to be understanding and find things out why? Is site council following all the rules themselves?thread
site council is voluntary for dpc they dont have to do it or they could add some to help since this is a growing site. I hope they will think of something but I feel like these things are not looked at in the right way. I

I had not finished voting but I kept looking at this one its neat..
