Called to Dutyby AaronComment by myqyl: Tremendous potential in the shot I think you were going for. Post-processing really hurt it for me though. Without the title, I doubt I would have known what you were aiming for. |

3 & 1: Standoffby AaronComment by LindaLee: What really makes this shot appealing to me is the reflections on the game pieces. I think I would have liked to have seen even more reflections, especially on the top of the "horse" piece. |

3 & 1: Standoffby AaronComment by PTLParsons: Much too dark to enjoy the beauty of the chess set and board. Reflection is distracting. Don't like the landscape shot for this. 4 PTL |

3 & 1: Standoffby AaronComment by joanns: Maybe more light and more DOF, you have two pieces and the one in back, being part of your subject, needs a little more focus. |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by mcmurma: You know, the more I look at this shot the more I like it. I can hardly believe it fared as poorly as it did during the challenge... it's a far better photo than the score would indicate ' - ) |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by RedRuthann: Wonderful shot! The composition is great and the point of view really enhance this photo. One thing - it appears the focused grass area was a bit too sharpened/contrasted creating a somewhat distracting line - I think I would prefer it all slightly blurred. 8 Ruthann |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by sheyingshi88: Your picture is an excellent example of the role depth of field plays in a picture, and I'm not trying to be sarcastic:) You can see a narrow area in the grass that's sharp and the rest is more or less blury. If your camera allows you to adjust DOF, you might try some experiments and see the difference. I like your idea very much, and if the grass and the cat were sharp it would have been one of my favorites. |
