Superb capture of this very interesting vintage medallion or is it a vintage plate? Wonderful B&W edit. 10

It's a really nice shot -- but there really is very little contrast in it. The only bright spot with all the darks is the sun at the very front edge, which doesn't have a lot to do in the photo. I hate to mark it down, because I love the moment, but it just doesn't fit the challenge, imo. :(

The only light part of the image is a small part on the bottom. There is not much contrast in the photo.

I love this photo. It has an artsy feel, and the relationship is clear in the image - even if your friend is getting bitten :) Can't figure out why it is so undeservingly underrated...

Greetings form the Critique Club!

Hey Marac! Good photo, and it definitely meets the challenge. I personally gave this an 8, and I love the title! I really love all the detail in the face. I don't really like the pose the pig is doing and it just looks stiff (unless it's not a real pig) I would've had the pug side facing you with it's head turned to you. The exposure is great, and I'm going to say it again, the detail in the face is outstanding. And all in all great photo and you just missed out on top 10. Good luck on future challenges!

Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Hello Marac. Good photo. And congrats on not getting a single vote below 5! What I really like in this photo is the lines of it. There is a lot of nice detail in this. Now that being said I think you might've scored higher if the thing on the left of the frame was removed because it is very distracting. Also by the window, it's just a bit to white for and if you brought the whites down I think it would've been better. Other than those two things it's an outstanding photo Marac, great job!

Hope this was helpful and you can PM me if you have any questions for me. Good luck on your next challenge!

sharp and focused where it should be and a blurred background to keep focus on the flower is good. I don't find this an overly engaging or attractive image the centered composition feels static. Maybe the only angle you had available to give the pop of red look.
