Very pretty. Don't get the proportion aspect but love the photo, the dirt seems out of place though.

Very, very strong shot. One of my ribbon choices. Congratulations. I might have composed with the tree just slightly more to the left. In a competition that permitted spot editing, I would have removed some of the digital dust and reflective distractions in the dirt and front field. There's a distracting smudge in the sky about halfway up to the right of the tree. Good luck!!! 9

So plain, but very effective. If you didn't title the photo what you did, I still would've understood the sense of mixed feelings here. The photo works best when the viewer's in a certain mood. This probably won't place near the top, because it won't impress everyone - but you definitely have impressed some of us.

First: I really enjoy this picture and most of commentary refers to how it fits into the challenge more than the picture for it's own value (which is very high).

It would have been *great* if the framing were a little different. I feel that since you opted for portrait orientation, more of the sky should have been shown to highlight a "tree size versus sky size" proportion. Had the picture been landscape AND showed more of the sky, it would have *really* stood about about how tiny the tree is in the grand scheme if things.

My only other comment is the brown streak through the bottom third. While this was probably unaviodable, it is a little distracting.

Ah - so simple yet so effective. The layering effect of the 2 different grasses , the brown dirt, and the sky is stunning. I wonder what a very small white cloud would do to hep say "proportion." But who cares - its a winner as is!

Beautiful and a nice idea for the challenge. I think it would look a little more lonely cropped from the bottom and the left a bit more. Gorgeous color--simply composed--effective.

This is a nice image. It definitely meets the criteria. I wonder if you could have moved in close enough to crop out that strip of soil and still made the statement? Perhaps framing it horizontally would have allowed you to keep the expanse of sky yet omit the distracting strip?
