Very creative interpretation of the challenge - and well done! The top seems a bit dark to me - seems to unbalance the picture as a whole. Perhaps more of the corner of the karma sutra being lit, or just more light on the top would help it.

Thanks for the constructive comments. I went with this one becuse I happend to like the way the light bottom and dark top balance eachother. I was expecting more it's underexposed comments than I got though.

I only had one light source, a difused flash. The picture was taken in the reflection of a mirror.

Thanks to everyone who voted this high and/or gave constructive comments. I had a really bad case of photographer's block and couldn't come up with anything non-clice (sky, water...) then my son found the feather and say "how about this for the challenge?" Figures an 11 year-old would be partly responsibile for my highest scoring entry. And yes, I have thanked him!

To answer some of the qustions posed during the challenge, the feather was naturally lit with difused light; the small aperture & long shutter account for the richness in tones. OK, OK, I should have known better than to post a photo w/ such a large frame - there's almost always an active thread bashing boarders. For thoes of you that didn't like the "shadows" on the right... this is a Blue Jay's freather and those are it's natural markings.
