What an outstanding wall, totally jealous. Is this all family too?

I disagree with taking out the shelf. I think it gives a sense of context, a leading line to her eyes as well.

Reasons this fell short, hmm, I think shooting this with a longer lens would have been a good start. This would compress her featrues a bit, as is her head seems pretty large compared to her body. The brightest spot, or at least largest is right on her chest, this draws attention away from what should be the focus, her face. Just a couple thoughts

Thanks for the response, I guess its just the lighting pattern across the chest that throws me? Congrats!

Lovely lighting, the editing a,little over the top with the blur but not bad. The hair, great. My biggest concern here is the angle of the shoulders. The movement in the body is very lifeless. By turning her a little more sideways or dipping the left shoulder down. Then concentrating on expressin too, it would really have made everything pop. You might even see less of the necklace but the overall impact would make it seem even nicer.

The only image in the group that wow'd me. Excellent job. Love the backlighting. To nit pick, the shadow coming across her nose bothers me and I assume you could edit that with your skill, must be the hair light above? All the crazy stray hairs, but I understand how annoying and difficult those are to be free of. Lastly, just the randomness of the umbrella, where is it coming from, how is it being held, etc... Would like to have seen the models hands engaged with it. Hope to be next to you at the top :) 9

Excellent execution of the concept. To be honest though, I'm a bit disapointed to see a water drop shot at the top of a language competition. After all, why would water of all things be included in a shot with an ethernet cable. I know its cool but other than that it really doesn't make much sense. Not the first time I've felt like that. We've all got our water shots on this site, at least yours is way better than most. Congrats on the ribbon
