*Howdy from the Critique Club*

First of all I like the light and shadow in this picture and the way the lines along back and the buttocks area create a matching curve along your back ground.

A few things you might want to look at, since it was a chrome challenge.

I pulled up your picture and played around with it, by removing the color I got more of a chrome or silver feel. Also I cropped most of the shoulder area out, along the right side where the bright highlights are at and up from the bottom. Which gave it a abstract look, at first glance you didn't really know what you were looking at.

As far a sharpness, reflective images for me don't always look to sharp and blurring it was out of the question. So I over sharpened it and it gave the reflective side the look of orange peel (kind of smooth but textured) and it made the background rougher since there were imperfection already there.

These are only my thoughts.

I hope, I help you out and if you have any questions just give me a shout.

Have a great Day, Mark Thomas Kelsay

Interesting. I have commented on a few that I think they should be brighter to give that chrome shine and feel but yours seems to fit being a little darker. I do wonder what a little less red would do for it though. My eyes get drawn to those weird makes in the spine and inner shoulder blades but I'm not really sure what could be done to prevent that.

Very pretty, with impressive lighting. The muted tones with the stong light are captivating!

Great exposure on both the flowers and the sky. A little smaller depth of field might help with the slight softness in the foreground flowers.

Hi! Here’s a comment from the Critique Club.

First Impression:
Nice Shot! The eye really draws your attention. Well titled.

Composition:
May have been a bit more effective if the face, “eye” was a little more to the left. Find the composition a little too centered.

Subject:
Met the challenge well!

Technical:
DOF a little shallow and focus a little soft. Lighting works well. File size is small. 33k, 600 X 476. May have benefited with a 640 dimension.

Suggestions:
More detail in the eyes, face and whiskers would have supported the mood of the picture

Summary:
Effective creative shot! Nice to see you moving your average up!

Yep, lots of them to look at, :)

It's a bit too bright with tha natural light, though they are beautiful maybe a slight reflector to soften the harsh light just a bit would have really made this shot easier to look at. As bright as it is, it does hurt my eyes just a bit. I like the fact you took a different angle to give the flowers a nice sky for the backdrop, very well done. A 6

Comment by LucidLotus:
Great color contrasts, interesting perspective. The lighting is pretty harsh, but its hard to tame sunlight (maybe some kind of diffuser prop if it was big enough?). The focus seems fairly soft here, which because of the macro-esque nature of the image is a drawback. I do like the composition. 5.
