I like this one, but it bothers me a bit that it's basically a picture of a picture, although it's mounted on a train. Not saying it's not ok by any rules or so, it just brings the last point in the general direction of the original artist..

Perhaps someone entering or leaving the train would have made the door / scale more obvious?

Very nice composition. I think her posture is a bit staged, as if she's trying to say "get on with it - take the picture already". Some of the yellow tones, especially in the background could be desaturated I think. One of my top picks still - good effort!

This is a truly fantastic image! The composition is perfect, nearly dead centered. The washed out skin tones, skillfully induced by the professionally setup muliple light sources and fine-tuned contrast during the post processing. Add to that the tasteful introduction of nipples that really helps adding interest and finally the pure well-focused detail of the player and excellent use of DOF. Magnificent!

I've checked my pulse and I'm still alive. Let me explain my thoughts on on-topic, since I'm one who complained about this one being off.

There are too many shots on this site that tries to "squeeze" in to the topic somehow. Sliced kiwi fruits in the "wheels"-challenge, golf images in the "team sport"-challenge etc etc.

Kiwis are round, that doesn't make them wheels. Ryder Cup is a team golf event, that doesn't make it a team sport.

Your (very nice, sorry I didn't tell you that) picture *could* be communication, but show it to 100 people and ask them to put it into 3 categories on a stock-photography site (where it well might fit) and my guess is that you'd get zero submissions into the "communications" category. You yourself put into "emotive" and "fashion" for starters.

This is pretty much a nail-the-topic kind of challenge. You didn't nail it, and got punished by the voters, me being one. I still gave you an average vote just because it's technically excellent and as I said - could be squeezed into the topic. Had it been in another challenge you might have gotten it up to top 10 even.

Hope I didn't add to the confusion.

Every now and then one randomly stumbles across great images here. This is clearly one. Before "my time" but you would have gotten 8+ from me for it. I rarely vote 1-2 or 9-10.

So there are two things with this one that bothers me. The impact of the subject and the people who has the stomach to vote this as a 1 just from being upset about said impact.

It's an image. It's art! And good one at that.

And yet they - all 20+12 of them - live around here, happily, understanding nothing, contaminating the very foundation that this site rests upon.

You deserved better.

Too much USM in this one. But nice expression and composition. The background distracts and would have been better off further away, more out of focus.
