An Art!by coovt2001Comment by 3DsArcher: Nice sharp image. I know how hard it is to capture the guys going past so fast. The only way I might improve this shot & this is only my opinion would be to have used a very slightly slower shutter speed so that the wheels had motion blur. Still a really good photograph |

Hi Wanna Ride?by coovt2001Comment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club! A very nicely seen and caught shot of someone who truly pimps his ride :-) Love the b/w and the pan makes the shot - the rest of the tuktuk is slightly blurry but his face, the important part, is in focus and he does look like he is trying to catch your eye. Now as to why the low placing...the composition is okay but very safe....there are some bleachy areas of white ie the roof of the vehicle...and some people will simply not care for the panning effect. (Same goes for lots of zoomblur effects, anytime the shutter is open longer than usual and the camera is being moved). This candid moment also has a bit of a snapshot feel to it. FS is very difficult to do well in because you can enter pictures of anything, and this pic simply failed to catch the votes.
Hope this critique has been of help, feel free to PM me

The eyes are the mirror of the soul!by coovt2001Comment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club!
A very interesting b/w study of someone with quite a story to tell. The challenge in those eyes just dares you to ask questions, doesn't it? He is slightly off-centre so that adds to the slightly unsettling air he projects. The detail and texture are very well shown and it looks like ambient light, of which I am a huge fan. Settings look spot on to this Nikon user. And traditionally portraits don't do very well in Free Study but here you are within a hair's breadth of the top 10.
Overall a great shot and very well captured. Please continue to shoot and enter and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
