A Taxing Timeby DougPazComment: Yikes! Doesn't look like you made those SSNs up. As for the photo, I like the framing. What are the red marks? 7 |

Forest Fireby KimblyComment: I have to admit that I don't care much for the fire idea, but I really like the contrast of the orange pencils against that green. 6 |

Writing Instrument (6 letters)by sulamkComment: When I first looked at the shot, I thought switchingto B/W didn't really add to the photo. As I scrolled down to add my comments I happened to crop your photo in such a way that the pencil basket in the supper left was no longer there. I had just the crossword puzzle and the hands. It was a stronger photo that way, I thought. Perhaps, the original is large enough to crop it wide instead of long. 6 |

scarecilby ypurboComment: Brought to you by the letter "E"; sorry, couldn't help noticing the shadow. I like your title. I also think the blue background compliments your doll well. 7 |

Pencilby 4davidComment: I don't understand the intention of this photo. What is the computerized image and what does it represent? Is that the eraser of a mechanical pencil? The play of light on the pencil (?) is nice, but overall, I think this is a poor photo. Perhaps if you'd just worked with the pencil and the framing, but the computer icon only adds confusion for me, and leaves the pencil seemingly unimportant in the photo. I'm sorry, but I scored this a 1. |

Small Timberby hokieComment: Ha. Nicely executed. The B/W choice was a good one for this photo. Yellow would have detracted from your point, er, should I say, your purpose. 8 |

phantom colorby wheatabixComment: I would like this photo without the easel or the drawing or the pencil. Sure that would make it useless for this challenge, but it would be a better photograph, and a solid one. MHO. |

Rhythm and bluesby JeanComment: UPDATE: I've been thinking about this photo all week. Every time I think about the challenge, this photo comes to mind. For that you deserve a ten. I've changed your score to such. I only hope that people see the pencils and you don't get scored down for their ambiguity. Great Job. Oh, and I still wanna know what I'm looking at -- mercury, candle wax, funhouse mirror? 10 (My only one for the week.) ORIGINAL COMMENT: I can't clearly see that those yellow things are pencils, but I'm taking your word for it because I like the rest of the photo so darned much. The movement, the depth, the colors are all beautiful -- now do tell: What AM I looking at? 9 |
