Van Gogh Paints Dr. Seuss's Gardenby Dr.ConfuserComment: Originally posted by willem: It does have some black and whites, but predominantly a full nice range of midtones. To me this is not high contrast. |
Thanks for your thoughts. Obviously, we disagree. High contrast does not demand monochrome, or b&w, or high key, or low key. There can be high contrast elements, even in a photo with lots of mid-tones. The seeds and fluff contrast very well, and in fact, the fluff and mid-tones do too. Not interested in a debate, not trying to change your mind. Just explaining my logic in entering this photo. |

Seasideby Dr.ConfuserComment: Originally posted by glad2badad: Nice, but it's all in the crop. |
How interesting. I saw a wide beach, both from side to side and in the depth of the beach. I saw a wide sky. Wide reflections. And I guess I was blinded by that. You saw a wide crop, and were maybe blinded by that. I was focused on wide content. You seemed to focus on wide form. At least from my perspective, it was not “all in the crop.” |

Tic Tac Toe Strategiesby Dr.ConfuserComment: Originally posted by Beaubeau: This is so unusual. I'd love to see the original. Very creative. Congratulations on well deserved blue ribbon |
Resized and compressed version of the original. I wanted a simpler image than the kaleidoscope images we usually see so i started with the VERY simple and deadly boring image above. |

Thanks. Been away quite awhile. Drawn back on the promise of a refresh of the site, which doesn't seem to be imminent. Entered 13 challenges so far this year. Couple of blues, lately, so I guess "I've still got it." |

Casa Oscuraby posthumousComment: This looks almost exactly like the house I grew up in, in Montana, in the 50's. Thanks for the nostalgia trip. |

I like the red left in, it made me think this was an alien monster, or perhaps a long lost sea creature walking around eating beach bums.. had to come back and find it, couldn’t believe it was so far off the front page! I award it win many Katie Kudos!!!!!!
