I like the off-centered composition here. A lot of people would have converted it to b/w, but the warm muted colors really adds something extra. Nice shot!

This looks like a nice capture, but it's a little over-processed for my taste.

I like portraits of old people. There is always so much character in their faces. I like the expression here, nice pose.

Here are a couple of things I would suggest:

• Use some side lighting to add depth. If you don't have lights, use a window. Then use your shutter speed to control the strength of the available light.
• Have your subject stand farther from the background and select a larger aperture. This will create a more narrow depth of field and "blur out" distracting background elements like wrinkles/folds in your backdrop.

I've got to be honest here, I don't think this really meets the challenge. That being said, it is still a really nice pic. I kinda wish the background contrasted more with the subject, but I realize it's hard to get a duck to stand where you want it and pose.

The light looks pretty harsh in this one. Some diffused side light would have softened up the shadows and given it more depth. The composition is off a little too IMO. I wouldn't have gone for a center weighted comp here, but if you do want it centered, be sure that you are not cutting of anything that is thematic to the shot. Peace is sort of the theme here, yet the peace gestures are cut off.

The focus and DOF look pretty good here. The colors and exposure are well done. Nothing is blown out.

Wow, what a great shot! You really captured the feeling of nothingness one feels while being incarcerated. Great interpretation! 10 ;-]

To me this looks like more the absence of a pattern rather than a pattern.
