*Hello from Sid and the Critique Club*

A very competent image that will have appeal to motor enthusiasts.

This would make a very good advertising and marketing shot for the car, whatever it is, other than it being German in origin I, as a self-confessed motoring ignoramus, do not know.

I like everything about the shot, your composition is good with the car on the thirds lower left hotspot, the soft focus background, the dominant tree to the cars left, the snow swept road the car is on, its all really quite perfect for the type of shot you have produced. Possibly the only minor imperfection is the snow on the road by the car, without this the foreground would be impeccable. The car itself is immaculately clean, if this is indeed impromptu you have to be commended for the showroom condition of the car.

As I said at the beginning this will appeal to a specific niche of voters and so your score although respectable probably reflects this fact. Thanks for your submission, Sid

I think the subdued light on the lighthouse is good just as it is. The stars in the background are a big plus. Colors in the lighthouse and the sky are a nice complementary contrast. What's not to like!!!

When I return next year, I will try a reflector.

There is a Tungsten light coming from the restrooms about 50-75 yards to the left and behind me.

I even did some shots where I painted it with a flashlight, but it became almost fake looking and overpowering.

I agree that the composition and perspective are excellent - with the moon behind to backlight. I also agree with Magen about the shadows in front. Maybe a reflector to light paint the front of the lighthouse might be cool to try

Lovely shot. I really like that you can see the stars in the sky... but the front of the lighthouse is in the shadows. Not a huge deal, I still really like the pick. Composition is lovely, and the colors are great.

I like the gradient in the sky, and the concept, but there are several things that detract for me: the sunglasses, the very large part of the image that's pure black, and the tiny size of the kite.

Aside from what has already been noted, the thing that catches my eye first is his sun glasses. They go against the whole silhouette.
