Not a quick read...it took me a minute. Then, suddenly, there I was dizzily stumbling into a dimly lit hut. Herbs, bundled and hung to dry by the window. The bright light of the outside world held back by slats. All is musty and mysterious.

I think your "check engine" light went on just after you blew that tire and rolled the car... Might be good to have that looked at! ;-)

Good thing you had your camera on and set to long exposure, though. Blurry, chaotic, not so disorganized but it is interesting. Fun to look at and figure it out.

Nice "attempt" (as you put it...)!

ARE YOU NUTZ? Standing outside in the freezing cold in the middle of February what were you trying to do...catch your death? </grandma mode off>

It really is a beautiful series of shots. I think this ranks far beyond "attempt." If you were playing horseshoes you'd have a ringer not a leaner. Sweetly done. Kudos for your planning and execution!

I feel a bit of disconnect with the subject. And, though that may be intended, I don't feel that the rest of the set-up supports a wispy, sultry mood. I think if perhaps the background were set back a bit further and were less in focus that the crisp lines of the gown would contrast nicely with the softer feel. The lighting, too, could be tamed a bit to bring out the mood of your subject. For a more classic feel I think a different choice of seating might serve better. This bead board box has such a cabin/rustic feel to it that it seems incongruous with your elegant woman. I could be really picky and ding you on the light spot in the lower left hand corner...but I'm sure you noticed that. :)
Hope this was the type of feed back you were hoping for when you posted it. I'll look forward to seeing more of this type of work from you.

How beautifully seen!
(I stumbled upon this in the "I love my shot" thread. I'm not in the thread nor was involved with the FS but feel compelled to share.)

On seeing this I have an immediate sense of story. This retro-toned image with a period chair and tv combination strikes a chord. With the reflection of the living world in the tv screen the tv seems to replace the former occupant of the chair. It's curbside--discarded. As if some old relative has passed away and their favorite chair and old tv are no longer wanted...a sore reminder of what is past or what has passed. The house is dated with its aluminum windows and siding. Even the gate post holds cobwebs. Everything is kept and clean but not kept up. How surreal this sunny day story. How solemn the doorway to the house.

I love the choices you've made from composition to color. So glad I stumbled across this! Adding to my favorites. Thank you.

The composition is pleasing and the sky is lovely and drama-filled. I have to agree that it's a bit darker than necessary, though.

Neat! I love the expression of the grand scale of the building and the narrow nature of the walkway! Wonderful tones...what mood!

What a beautiful portrait! Such a natural expression and richly toned! I love how it seems so classic because the subject has included one of her "tools" just as the old masters would have painted a tradesman with the tools of his trade. :)
