That would certainly work- good color & layout. Who do your think would be more offended- the Digest for submitting a photo for a watercolor magazine or DPC voters for submitting a watercolor on a photo site? It's an image to be proud of, but no longer a photo in my opinion.

I doubt Watercolor Digest would put a photo on the cover, but this is certainly beautifully done. I enjoy the image, but wish there was more detail in the bird and less in the background.

The back ground looks like a rug from the 70's! But that's just a for fun comment. The little flowers are out of focus but the round thing is very sharp, which makes the flowers look even more out of focus than they actually are. Don't know what it is but this picture is alittle hard to look at for more than a minute. Must be the flowers.

This is an interesting use of a PS filter, but I can't really imagine a watercolor painting of a bird that deliberately left in a fence in the background, or at least not one that made the cover of a magazine. This photo may have stood alone as a regular photo for a bird magazine perhaps, with a careful cloning out of the fence. The setting is good.

While this is true:Orange Shapes and Textures......it's boring to look at. There is little detail because it's OOF. The light is too strong. Work on composition, shoot 100's of shots. You can do better.

Nice job capturing the different tectures (orange foam on orange wool?). Composition wise, I think angled shaddows (ie, lighting from a corner, not an edge)tend to look more balanced as opposed to the verticle drop. Also, consider centering equally top/bottom vs left/right.

The bird blends a little too much with the background. It'd be nice to have the bird clear and the rest of the photo with this filter effect.
