Jack is so cute! I like the shot with the exception of the stripes in the background, very distracting. Look like a suitcase of some sort that he's sitting in? He's a very patient little guy, hope you rewarded him well.

The overall shot also seems a tad dark with the exception of the light on Jack's face, flash usage? Oh and what is that white spot on the front of the box? Nitpicky I know but still distracting in the long run to me. A 7

Cute doggie, and I like the black and white treatment, but the background is very busy and distracting.

Greetings....

This photo is a nice profile shot, but there are a few issues that you should consider here... 1. The background is a little powerful for the subject. There are a lot of strong lines and contrasts there that make the image a bit 'busy' overall. 2. The image is a little soft in some key areas, probably due to a shallow depth of field aperture setting on the camera. 3. The light provided by the flash is creating a lot of harsh contrast in the image.

Without the title here, i would have trouble determining that this dog is in a box with this tight composition.

This shot seems like a family snapshot. A softbox/diffuser on the strobe would have been helpful in evening out the light and reducing the shadows. The framing seems uncomfortably tight. Opening up the frame to the right and allowing the top of the book to be seen would likely help.

Lose the on camera flash. Takes so much away from what you are trying to capture.

I'm sure that the separaion in this shot has somthing to do with penut butter and jelly. I Think however that im missing it. I also feel that better lighting would realy have helped this shot. You hace a glare on the side of the models head, and the denim, shirt, bottle and table all seem to have no contrast. They all seem to meld together. The lighing makes this overall good shot feel like just another snap shot.

Apologies to the person who took this shot has a number of opportunities for improvement. The big space around the subject is really uninteresting. The condiments are distracting. And if you have to use a flash inside to get the shot, you probably should light the space differently. (The flash is an evil conspiracy by the Uglification Society to ruin the photos of everybody who is not schooled to use them only under seemingly irrellevant condions.) You chose a subject who could be quite photogenic.

I don't understand the articulation of the theme.
