bird songby instepsComment by jerryc12: IMO parts of this would make a good photo but there is too much extra stuff like the large not quite silhouette at the top. |

IN THE HAZE OF THE MORNINGby instepsComment by mariuca: I left my comments on the Forum so I just copy it here also. I wish that all of you look at THE HAZE OF THE MORNING
I am delighted that you posted this video. It transports me beyond the images, and this is a great compliment.
Your B&W work reflects facets of a world that is intensely yours, farther than any place that I know but still so close to what my mind is searching for.
You brought me back from your RED collection to the apparently clean realm of greys, ever so mysterious yet apparently easier to understand. We are surrounded by color and the world of greys seems to push us to go to the essence. You're walking in both directions flawlessly.
Looking forward for more of your discoveries Henry. |

IN THE HAZE OF THE MORNINGby instepsComment by primabarbara: I watched your presentation several times now. And still I don't know which words can describe my feelings properly… Maybe amazement and astonishment how you encapsulated the atmosphere and simple beauty which is evident in your pictures. I'm not sure if I'd seen this beauty when riding the train on my own. It's like you pointed your finger to the power poles which look like samll pagodas, the cranes and the reflections of the sun in the fields.
Besides I enjoyed the union of pictures and music tremendously. You picked the perfect soundtrack!
What about using the music in a public video on YouTube concerning copyright? Is it free to use for private purpose?

IN THE HAZE OF THE MORNINGby instepsComment by ubique: Henry,
A rich pleasure, and a thrilling example of photography as legitimate art.
I’m so sick of seeing photographs described as “stunning” (with apologies to tanguera in this case, I’m not calling her out ... I have great affection and respect for her), because stunning is the act of rendering insensible. This ensemble of spare photographs, presented so simply, so coherently, has the opposite effect; of heightening the viewer’s senses. It’s anti-stunning.
You demonstrate that one of the most powerful expressions of photography is to reduce the subject to its essentials. A distillation. And in the case of this work, that distillation is a single malt.
Thank you. |
