I wish I had not seen this so early in the voting as the others seem rather palid and irrelevant in comparison. The massing is well balanced and the color palate is masterfull. I can't belive anything will be better done in this challenge. From the lightness of touch I belive you are shooing in the south of France no? I am searching for something to criticize, and I have decided that your border must be the most faulty peice of the shot, not that it is too bad but you left so little else to argue with.

Great sky and subject. both powerfull and balanced in tone. I wish the buildings had a bit more of the frame, but I assume there was a good reason you couldn't go lower, top ten, but could have been higher.

Since my daughter plays with both Im not sure about the title, but the shot is just fine. the small speck of green puts it over the top though I wish the light on the marble was either tighter or had softer edges. Good job, should ribbon IMHO

The reflection kills this shot for me. Either turn off the lights behind you or use the reflections of some action to add to the shot.

all that lighwould be nicer if you had nailed the focus. Pretty well composed, certainly meets the challenge, but nothing is in focus.

Well done in so many ways, except the way it responds to the challenge. I particularly like the framing. I just wish that there was some evidence of a light source other than the sun.

I just wish it had been a bit brighter, great idea and almost there on the execution. good marks, just not quite what it might have been.

Shadows of Light

Great idea, but somehow it just dosen't pop the way it seems it should. The shadows are well laid out but not very contrasty, and with the exception of the highlights on the bulb there is on white in this black and white shot. Other than that good focus, concept and composition.
