Heading For Shoreby TommyMoe21Comment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that contributes well to the open challenge
One minute you're swimming around without a care in the world, and the next… Great action capture Tom, presumably from the same or similar sequence to your triptych? It's nice to see so close up but therein lies the problem in that perhaps you have cropped too close and the sharpness is not quite there. I do think your image was well worthy of comment and disappointed for you that no-one else contributed during the challenge but perhaps thats confirmation of my own comments…? Anyway, still a great shot Tom, thanks for sharing. |

An appealing image that contributes to the challenge well
What a lovely contrasting landscape you have in the background, against that sky it works really well. I'm not so happy about the foreground, it feels as though it would benefit from more exposure. However, I am imagining this scene without any of the cacti, for me that simpler image would work stunningly. Having said that, there are still a couple of problems, there is evidence of banding in the sky and the hills and cacti have sharpening halos.

Eagle Fishing In 1 Secondby TommyMoe21Comment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
A great sequence that fulfils the challenge brief fully
What a remarkable sequence of images Tom, well done for these great images and also for your well deserved blue ribbon. The timing of grabbing the fish and it still submerged to the subsequent shots has captured the essence of the action really well at the crucial point. All shots are nicely focused with the action frozen with just a hint of blurring in the wingtips which is perfect I don't like to see everything frozen like a cutout. Congratulations Tom. |
