Ansel of Arabiaby ecmguyComment: A classic beauty - hard to beat the great lines and shadow play of dunes like these. Maybe a bit over-sharpened for my taste but terrific anyway. One of my top 10. |

Roots and Lighthouse, Point Ferminby MelethiaComment: This is not my idea of an Ansel Adams subject or composition (I am no expert and may be wrong), yet it is an image that I suspect he would have liked a lot. The light - late afternoon, maybe? - on the roots, trunk and branches of this very interesting tree is beautiful, and I am quite taken by the way you used that to frame the lighthouse and out-building. The tonal range might have been just a bit stronger but there's such nice detail even in the shadows. One of my top 10. |

Circa 1943by MinsoPhotoComment: Bravo for going the portrait route in this challenge - subject, angle of head, expression and treatment all look very Ansel-like to me. One of my top 10. |

Reflectiveby NeatComment: This is one that I kept bumping. I really like the strong contrast between the shadow and light areas - the leaves and reflections especially just seem to be dancing. I could use a bit more detail in the highlights on the trunks. One of my top 10. |

Surfboat, Old Harbor Life-Saving Station, circa 1902by PenelopeKComment: Though I am far from an Ansel expert, this does not strike me as a typical subject; however, that does not detract in the slightest for me. The lighting, crisp detail even in the shadows, full range of tones from white to black, textures and compositional balance make this entirely suitable for the challenge IMO. In my top three. |

Spring Ebb at Nobska Headby OzComment: Great textures and detail in the foreground and midfield and a very nice sky. The composition balance works for me and the there is an excellent range of tones. In my top three. |

In T-rainingby JuliBocComment: I did not score at all well as a voter in this challenge - yours is one I loved and gave a 9 (gave no 10's this challenge) and most of the ones on the front page (5 and 7 excepted) I gave 5's and 6's. I did like your tones, sky, and scene here a lot. |

Recipe for rain candyby mariucaComment: I see most others liked the hand - I was conflicted. Gave this a 7 and really liked it but would love to see it without for comparison. |

Rained Outby pixelpigComment: One of my favorites, too - gave it an 8 and had no 10's this time. Don't mind the tilt at all - seems just right for a rained out carnival - and love the bokeh |
