pretty display of a delicious looking goulash. The white sauce in the center (sour cream? Yogurt?) is undoubtedly an important ingredient for the dish, but, to my view, it contrasts too sharply with the softer, more muted colors of the rest of the picture.

2 comments and a couple of questions. First this looks very tasty, good job!. My only nitpicking comment is that the sour cream in the middle seems blown out.

Are those Cashews in the background? and how do they figure into the dish? (This is not affecting my score, I guess I'll just have to wait for the recipe)

This is a very appetizing photo, it makes me hungry, which is good, the colors are vibrant, clear, crisp and the lighting seems just a hair bright but overall very well done. The only distraction is the cashews in the upper left corner. I like the fork peeking into the shot, my utinsil to eat but the cashews throw me off, there are too many of them. Starting with an 8 on this one.

Great color usage. The noodles look fairly well defined. The food does look good. I like the use of the black background, but I find the ingredients spilled in the back a bit distracting. Would've rathered the shot be filled by the goulash instead - not cut off in the right hand corner, I think it is strong enough to stand on its own - no props needed. Lighting looks good. 6
