to diet or not to...by bruskiComment: Well done. I would have given you an 8 purely on the phenomenal composition (you got a 9 from me though, since it was a perfect fit to the challenge). Cropping out the lower half of his (your?) face really reinforces that the man is thinking about the decision. It's a problem a lot of us face (or rather, don't face) everyday and that is what appeals to me. Congrats. Message edited by author 2004-11-09 02:23:50. |

"I Hope He Looks at Me..."by librodoComment: 5th place is a great showing, but I'm pretty disappointed that this didn't ribbon. It's one of the better shots I've seen on the site and, pardon me for saying, it blows the other entries out of the water for portraying hope in a meaningful, emotional way. This is an immediate classic that I will go back to for reference many times in the future. |

Bottom of the Ninthby eptasdiComment: Shouldn't they have rally caps on? If we're to believe they're really hoping for something, I want to see more tension...more anxiety...more leaning on each other for support. It just looks like any normal at bat in any normal game. |

Can hope fix everything?by AmasonComment: Well, bummer. I can' t tell who the guy is or what the guy is doing. I imagine he's a carpenter, looking at his newest project. I dunno. I just feel too removed from the subject to be interested. |

Still Hoping Her First Eyebrow Plucking Is Worth the Pain!by boomerComment: Cute composition with lots of energy. Her hands look a bit posed, but the facial expression is great. I love how she's looking at the viewer (me) as though begging for help. I wonder if getting closer to the victim and using some shallow DOF to separate the plucker from the pluckee would benefit the image. |

...for that first move.by gorkeComment: Oh, this is so close to being so much better that I have to comment. Moving the boy a little closer to her and getting the top of his head out of the trees would do wonders for this shot. Also, turning her head more torward him so that we can clearly see that she is looking at him would improve the feeling of hope. It's a great idea and I really hope you reshoot it with just some minor changes. I love it. |
