Wonderul capture and perfectly framed.
The ball makes for an essential visual counterpoint to the diver, who's presumably about to curl and close into a ball as well. A future symmetry which gives dynamism and it's also mirrored in the two identical ladders.
Or perhaps I am just crazy :)
But I love it, wonderful capture.

Comment by Paul:
I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: What a great silhouette and the ambiguity of the animal works really well. I really like the straightness of the edge - a wall? A roofline? Not knowing adds drama. I like the clouds too and how oppressive your treatment has made them become.

Critical stuff: The vignette will be a little strong for some.

Overall: I find this to be very effective.

This looks like it won't end well. The angle makes it appear he's headed for the cement pier, and his body position like he's unconscious. I like the intent, and there is something satisfyingly disturbing about this scene. I don't think the ball adds anything to the image. Plus desating everything but the ball gives it much more prominence than you may have intended, and pulls the eye from the "leap"

WOW nice capture. A definite feeling of freedom to feel the weightless fall to the water below. Great image.

That's great. Love the inclusion of the ball, and the invisible diagonal connecting it to the boy. I'd have left it all monochromatic, but that's just me. 7

It is indeed the end, splendid, as if we ourselves are closing our eyes for the last time.
