Kinda dim, grainy and the subject my eye is drawn to is very much out of focus. Not sure there is really much post processing that could help this shot. If you were to reshoot it, I would suggest having some of the items completely in the frame, try some different lighting and to watch the focus.

Poor lighting and focus. Nice concept, however.

for me this is a bit to dark and IMO your strongest point of focus should have been the eye of the needle and the thread (according to your title)...as your needle and thread are not in focus at all

A bit out of focus, and there's a strange thing going on near the thread.

Deadspace in the middle of the photo makes it unclear what I should be looking at.
Out of focus needle and thread is distracting.
Over saturation of reds is evident in the table making it blotchy.
Lighting looks like it's come from a the camera's flash. Try using a torch to get more interesting lighting on the subjects.

It does meet the challenge.

Hi. At least you thought about a subject that fits the challenge. However it falls short on lighting and focus. The tip of the needle, the thread and the thimble are all in a a parralel line and must be in focus and the items like the reading glasses and thread roll should be out of focus. Go manual next time and don't rely on the camera's autofocus. You can push colours and saturation a bit during editing for Basic Challenges, as well as contrast/tones. Hope this crit helps!

I like how my eyes are drawn in circles around the image, but the lack of focus in the foreground is a little jarring.

would have prefered the focus on the needle and the thimble not cut off
