True Worth Is Beingby RoosterComment: I guess it's just me, but I think that this image would have been stronger if you hadn't softened all of the face but the eyes. That treatment works very well for glamour shots and "flattering" portrait shots, but it seems to me that the unsoftened "truth" is what this image--especially with the title you've given it--needed. The image is still effective, but I think it could have been even more so. |

Winterfallby OdieComment: You've captured the falls and the ice very well. I think this image would be even stronger, though, if you cropped down just far enough to get rid of the fence post s and lines (roadside?) at the top. I've scrolled down to see how the image would look without those, and to my eye, it does look better. I'd have given this an 8 if the top had been cropped off. |

For Youby L1Comment: Great idea, great set-up and great expression and pose. The hot spots on the face and hands are a bit problematic, though. I think you might be able to tone these spots a bit. |

American Prideby dpattersonComment: You captured the eagle, and the composition of your shot is good. Unfortuantely, the image is overexposed and not quite as sharp as it could be. Probably, you didn't have time to change your settings when this wonderful photo op presented itself. In any case, this would be a difficult shot to expose correctly because of the very strong contrasts involved. |
