Three Stagesby channeledComment by mffnqueen: i was hoping someone would do this!! the lighting is extremely harsh though, it washes out the flowers and casts an overly dark shadow in the background.. experiement with some different lighting intensities and angles and see if you can't get something that brings out the detail of the flower more |

Three Stagesby channeledComment by Jesuispeure: This is a nice idea for a shot, but this picture suffers a bit from the flash lighting. Maybe next time try natural light and a tripod to get rid of the harshness of the flash.

Three Stagesby channeledComment by LENWOODBLUZ: I really like this photo. Great idea and nice compo but the colour seems a bit off. not quite rich enough...I can't put my finger on it. still high marks though. |

Yellow Oneby channeledComment by BobsterLobster: Critique Club:
An interesting flower macro... I very much like the effect your shallow DOF has produced in the background, the blurred greens are a very effective compositional device.
There are a few things that could be improved here IMO though:
For me, the focal point of this picture is the top of the flower, which is way to close to the top of the frame. I would have considered rule of thirds for this element.
There's a little too much glare on the left of the flower... perhaps you could have positioned something between the sun and the flower that would have reduced this.
The colours are a bit dull... the photo is crying out to have some colour adjustments in Photoshop to make the greens and yellows more vibrant. |

Simplisticby channeledComment by omnibus: Very graceful line. Suffering from being way too overcompressed, which is most likely what's making it look noisy and soft. |
