Stone Roseby myqylComment: I like the subtle look; I think you could even tone back the leaves a bit and keep the effect, but I like it as is.. |

The Darkness of Depressionby nbortonComment: This reminds me of photos a friend of mine has taken/published. I like the way you kept some detail in the quilt (comforter? is that another "layer of meaning" in this photo?) all the way to the left edge. If you're interested, I'll send you a link to his photos...if we allowed dodge/burn functions I'd darken that spot at the base of the big toe...with that change I'd love to see it printed on matte-finish paper. |

Tree Silhouetteby xertionComment: I don't think the fallen tree adds to meeting the challenge. From the lighting, I think I'd have moved to the right (if possible) and made the two trunks line up more tightly. I shoot a lot of sunsets and trees myself -- keep shooting as many as you can, they are worth every megabyte! |

The Buck Stops Hereby NitenComment: I like the concept and composition but not the wrinkles. If it's not too hard, try this again with a dark, fuzzy background for a smoother and "spookier" look. You could modify THIS image to achieve the look I'm suggesting. If interested, send me an email and I'll send you/post files with examples of suggested modifications. |

Hangin' Onby karmatComment: Seems like an obvious idea when someone else thinks of it...well conceived and well executed. |

Moon Birdby lisaeComment: To my eye it would be stronger cropping off about 1/3 from the right and bottom, leaving the bird and the top three branches. Proportionally more sky and a bigger (more visible) bird that way. |

The Smithfield Street Bridgeby alanfreedComment: Great color effects. I'm not sure if I'd like it better with still water/clearer reflections or this way, but if it were convenient I'd reshoot it myself if possible. I really like everything else about it. |
