Sweet Sightingsby teranbComment by brumer0: Old jar, hu? If I remember correctly, Ball, now called Ball Aerospace, made the Hubble Telescope...
As far as the photo goes: I really like it. Only nitpick, I think it needs to be rotated CCW |

Fool for trying again!by teranbComment by ubique: It's so beautifully tantalising, as if the entire photograph is a reluctant gesture. It might be this, it might be that. It's quiet, and cautious, and resigned. And so it is sad and sweet at once. A moving hint of something gone. |

softby teranbComment by tph1: Soft, yes. I like it. But I would like to see it with some darker blacks. I would'nt necessarily lighten up the whites though.
When I first joined this site I entered a few challenges and got hammered. I left for a couple years but of course came back. Don't let the negative comments or interpretations bother you. They are normal and will always be there. |

softby teranbComment by jomari: I like it. It is reminiscent of a pencil drawing. Since it has this particular look, and is probably intended to, I think the soft contrast is appropriate. And I like the juxtaposition of the fresh and perfect flower aginst the grungy old box.
Don't some of those challenge comments make you cringe? Pretty mean really. I missed a few challenges after the texture one, coz I really liked my picture but several voters gave it a 2. (It got a 10 as well) So I s'pose I was sulking too - or licking my wounds. |

Sweet Sightingsby teranbComment by Titia: I gave it a 5, because it's a table shot, but it lacks in composition. Could have had a bit more contrast too. |

garden starby teranbComment by tph1: I'm not particularily turned off by the border. Sometimes I think it can be nice to see what the photo may look like matted. Is this a wildflower? |

garden starby teranbComment by KarenNfld: It's a pretty flower and a pretty photo but your border is way too overpowering and the photo itself is too small. |

golden glowby teranbComment by Teafran: Far from being an artistic success, this image has several technical issues that needed to be addressed. Besides the over done white bloom, the edges of the ball are squared off - not smooth and round as would normally be expected. It also appears to be over sharpened. Both of these issues might be due to the available lighting or lighting technique used. From an artistic standpoint, there is too much blank space contrasting directly with the over done whites and odd color of the ball. A little less exposure and more lighting control would have been a significant improvement. |

springing forthby teranbComment by jomari: Beautiful blue grape hyacinths. Lovely. The leaves of mine have made their appearance, so I can look forward to the flowers when my springtime comes.
You have created quite a painterly backdrop for the flowers. It really helps pop them out. |
