Selfportrait - Alone with my computer =)by MikaelComment by LucidLotus: Heh.. the little figurine is cute, lighting is good, use of space as well. Nice focus. Technically a nice image. I find that I lose interest quickly though once I've figured out what the figurine is doing. Doesn't keep me engaged. Still, excellent tech. work. 6 |

This bird slamed into our windowby MikaelComment by Mikael: Originally posted by Everyday Renee: Reply to Mikael's E-mail below:

In the United States, we have organizations that rehabilitate wildlife -- and yes, they rehabilitate birds. Fellow Mortals is one such organization in Wisconsin who rehabilitates many wild creatures -- of which the majority are birds -- even small song birds like yours.
Maybe you can locate a similiar organization in your country in case you encounter this situation again. Most birds who are stunned from hitting a window die from internal bleeding/trauma.

Thats a nice organisation! Though I dont think we have one like it over here in Sweden, atleast not nearby where I live.
Sure they might have internal bleeding, and thats too bad this can happen. But as I said in my private mail to you which you so kindly posted here, that if this bird did die later on, it will benefit another animal. Circle of life.
Edit: Call me cold-hartedly, but this is the way I see the world. And sorry if I offended anybody with this picture! it was truely not my intention with it! Message edited by author 2003-10-19 13:38:47. |

This bird slamed into our windowby MikaelComment by Everyday Renee: Mikael sent this e-mail to me:
"Well, do you for REAL think that a vet would take time to nurse a bird ther´s uncountable amount of??
Also I´d like to see you taking a fat rat (or some other animal not so "cute looking") to the vet cause its stuck in someones trap, or partially injured by some other animal.
Let it go and hope that it will survive, otherwise it will benefit some other animal.
Just to be clear, dont take this as a angry reply!
and sorry for any bad choise of word.
Regards,
Mikael"
