Banjo Dogby tnunComment: 'Fluffy' had heard all the songs a million times or more. They were played well on a good instrument, but he knew the money wouldn't roll in until he started doing his dog dance. The star of the show was waiting for the right moment with the right lighting and the right crowd. He was 3 dances away from the $250 he needed for a flight to Hollywood to become a film star, or work in a restaurant if it failed. |

Blobs in Spaceby LawtonComment: "Set the controls for the heart of the sun," shouted the Captain, "we've got to shake off the Banty patrol interceptor and get the Quad twins to safety!"
"Dave! Dave! Wake up!" shouted Kevin.
Dave woke and went back to his menial job, monitoring space for the signs of extra-terrestial intelligence that he knew he would never find. They were out there, but they didn't want to speak to us.
Very engaging photo. |

The Boxby rboslemanComment: The box had had an interesting life. Once it held important cryptic messages for Polish spies working as double agents for the KGB in West Germany. When 'Rudolf' was picked up by the Police the box went to a thrift store where Keith bought it to store his pens, but he always got a bad vibe when the lights were turned off and the box whispered messages about its interesting past. Now it lives in the shed, empty, remembering the old days, whispering to itself in the dark. When the light comes on, it stops.
Great atmospheric shot. |

Boxed Inby colorcarnivalComment: It wasn't the most interesting or enjoyable team-building day, but the finance section was determined to make the most of it. They just needed to remember to forget that the IT section got a week in Miami.
Good shot. |

Boats on a Beachby AV8RComment: As the sun dropped and the holiday-makers went back to their hotels to party, the kayaks snuggled up to keep warm against the cold Pacific breeze. "Tomorrow," the told themselves each night, "tomorrow we'll get to go to Chile", but of course they never would.
Lovely light and atmosphere, but photos I like usually bomb. Sorry! |

Bottlesby DCrest01Comment: Every year it was the same. 2 bottles of 'clown water' from the Clown Club to mark another birthday, another 365 days of making up and putting on his ridiculous shoes, another year of driving his terrible car with the fally-off doors. "Next year," he said to himself, "next year I'll have my MBA and get to run a bank".
Nice version of the classic 'bottle shot'. Good colours and clarity. |

bluffsby LanndonKaneComment: As the sun dropped, the sea bubbled and frothed and boiled and rolled. The High Priests of Zolo waited in anticipation for Her arrival, salivating at the thought of their imminent ascension to Zolo heaven. "Hang on a minute," said Phil, the lead priest, "it's just an illusion, we're all wearing our ND4 glasses again. It's just another normal day".
Then they went home, slightly disappointed.
Great shot and colours. Should do very well. |

B is for Beautifulby eriksawayaComment: Beautiful Brenda lived to sing. Unfortunately she was a terrible singer and regularly got complaints from her neighbours who banged on the walls and ceiling when she warbled. But she'd show them; one day she'd be a star and get top billing on Broadway, as long as she kept practising.
Great shot and lovely negative space and lighting. |

Bookish Blue Beta and a Birdby grahamgatorComment: "Oh, you'd love Italy," said the smug wooden bird, "it's full of art and beauty and adventure. When I finally fledge I'm going to fly to Florence and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of thousands of years of history and culture".
"Feck me!" exclaimed the fish, "A talking wooden bird!".
Excellent atmospheric shot and a well-deserved 10. |
