Nice direct, sidelong gaze in this portrait. I think that it would have really benefitted from having the lighting less directly focused on the face, as there appears to be a lot of detail lost in the bright highlights. By experimenting with more subtle lighting scenarios, I'm sure that you could get an effectively moody and compelling shot with this composition.
