these photos look old. I don't mean last year, I mean 50 years old. Your street is empty or emptying. That feels like your style of street photography: the empty street, with an element of loneliness... like the smiling cross.

I love this essay, and for me the star of it is that guy in the alley among the garbage bins. The sense of scale is crazy and amazing.

A fantastically entertaining essay. The images are placed extremely well within the greater body of work and a great linking motif - as i read it anyway. Like watching a bird take off and soar. Excellent. Thanks for making it and sharing.
