My Girlsby LadeeMComment: Backlighting is nice, but some fill flash would have helped so the faces aren't shadowed as much. I would have had her put the towel down. Some movement in a different direction could have taken the majority of the concrete out of the background on the left side and a shallower dof would have helped to blur it a little more. Opening the eyes a bit more is helpful in this style of portrait shot. |

Cassie in B&Wby LadeeMComment: This is one of the better ones considering the shallower dof. It is typical in portrait shooting to ask the model to look up slightly... this will open their eyes wider. Eyes are a key element in most portrait shots, especially of this style. I'm a big fan of the hand under the chin. I like backlit shots, but it seems this could have used a little bit of fill flash. |

Simple Yellow on Blueby strangeghostComment: The colors are brilliant - so vivid and strong. There is a very nice contrast of the deep blue to the bright yellow. It just pops the flower off the screen. The clarity looks excellent and I love the slight shadowing of the petals. I really like the positioning in the frame on this one. The green stem is an afterthought in the photo - which works out really well. In a few words, simply stunning about wraps this one up.
How much color enhancing did you do in PS, if any?

Hall of Shadowsby aboutimageComment: This is my favorite of the two you posted. It has everything wonderful - composition, lighting - I could see this is a fine art print in a gallery. Not to mention it makes a fantastic b/w. I couldn't imagine it in color. GREAT work. :-) |
