Great subject. Photographing subjects with hats can be tough - all the shadow areas in this shot are just where you don't want them - on his face. A reflector could maybe help you throw some light under the brim and bring out his character and add a catch light to the eye.

A great subject though perhaps a not so flattering location. The textured, flesh coloured wall in the upper left in particular really doesn't enhance the image. Something outside or near a window might give you some great portraits

The contrast looks very flat in this - no real whites or blacks making for a quite subdued feel. The pose and lighting look good on the subject - the plant could maybe have been moved ?

The location doesn't really inspire, mainly with the brown dirt on the left . Something closer in and vertical and just using some of the rocks behind for background might be stronger. The pose looks good though the hands 'scratching' the foot looks awkward. A reasonable attempt that could benefit from a less barren location.
