Life Loverby TerminatorComment: Great colour, nice tight portrait, good lighting. Her face does seem a bit soft though, as if the focus was on the front of the umbrella. A bit more light in her eyes would really give her more life (e.g., using a small reflector) Also the picture overall could be larger to submit to DPC. |

the game of...LIFEby ShmeeComment: I like the use of painting with light to trace the path in the game. Adds a level of interest that wouldn't be there with a literal shot of the board.
Might have been interesting to try to mix the painted with light lighting with some ambient/ fill flash so that it wasn't completely dark. |

Elements of Lifeby fordmanf1Comment: Pretty orange sunset. I think something that gave a stronger silhouette (both literally and thematically) would really enhance this shot |

R E B O R Nby GiorgioComment: Good lighting (though I think a cleaner/ brighter background would be stronger. The dirty orange/white feel doesn't quite work. Interesting choice of nesting materials! |

Origins of Lifeby shamerComment: Interesting digi-scoping. I don't really see any clear/ specific subject in the view though |

generationsby boysetsfireComment: Good use of the ring as a framing device/ frame within the frame. Really helps focus the eye on the subjects. I'm not sure that the heavy grain/ texturing and colour treatment really add to a feeling of life, though it does feel old fashioned as a result. |

Emergingby levyj413Comment: wow, great lighting effect, with the backlit shell. I think I'd prefer to see a more complete shell with a real 'exit' rather than this that looks like it has been stuck back together |

Life Is Best Sharedby ladyhawk22Comment: Tender moment, with good light. I think I'd like to see a bit more of his face, maybe pulled to the left just enough to see his full profile. Overall it feels a bit soft. |

Tender 5 hours oldby SimpaComment: Very tender shot, though the highkey/ over exposure is taking me away from the subject. I'd be tempted to crop in about an inch from the top and right, to focus attention right on the face. Not a big fan of the triple border either, seems overly fussy for what should be a simple, clean subject. |
