Hello from the Critique Club!

This picture is adorable! Your composition is very cute. The idea to put the stuffed animals' heads together with your daughter's was a great idea.

The colors in the photo are very bland, however. I don't know what kind of post-processing you did on this, other than the crop, but I think you might benefit from playing around with some adjustment layers.

I also noticed that you used the flash. This is my opinion, but I would suggest avoiding using the flash unless you absolutely need to. The problem is that it creates unflattering shadows and washes out colors. In pictures that aren't beautifully lit, it is just unappealing. You have a terrific camera! Why not open up the aperture or use a longer shutter speed? In fact, one of the best features of digital SLRs is the adjustable ISO! Play with that and see what kind of results you can get!

You have an eye for composition and can think of creative ideas, now if you just take advantage of your DSLR, you can come out with great results!

Hello from the critique club!

I think you have a wonderful image here! I've seen a lot of pictures of jets, especially the Blue Angels. In your picture, all four jets fit fairly well into the frame, and the upside down jets are clear. I think a closer crop would have been nicer. You also run into a little bit of a merger with the jets on the left, but it doesn't really hurt the image too much. The colors are all very nice as well.

I think your two weak areas are that merger, and the focus. Although the focus is amazing for that kind of shot, it is still a little off, and I can't ignore it. It seems a little rough, and if it was smoother, it would be more appealing.

Really great job overall!!

It's very grey and empty. That might have been your intention, but I think it just leaves the picture without interest in it.

I love the negative space up top. Contrast is really nice. I think it lacks a strong interest, whether that be texture, a subject, or shapes.

Nice capture, especially the clouds! I don't know how "urban" this is, but I like it nonetheless.

I think this would have benefitted from a tighter crop. But it's a very nice, sharp image. Great contrast too!

The focus is a little off and the colors are a bit dull. Everything sort of runs together if you know what I mean.

Nice composition, good contrast. Those white lines work really well. The blurriness throws it off a little.
