I agree with everyone's suggestion of making the photo off centered to the right. I'd stick with the horizontal layout as the portrait will diminish the black backgrounds effect. You've mastered the black background very well.

In your "Photographer's Comments" section let us know what you used for the cracked look. Inquiring minds will want to know.

Love the photo, I find that not having a horizon line adds an interesting feel to the photo. The color is a little too yellow/green for my tastes but that's a personal thing
