Definitely registers as almost something of an optical illusion. Great perspective that makes you pause and linger.

I'm probably biased, since this theatre is so close to home for me, but the Austin culture is rendered with tactile precision by this panoramic. A top pick for me.

Meditative and almost mesmerizing use of minimalism here. Beautifully composed.

Such a serene perspective, and the panoramic really gives the eye plenty to take in. Personally. I would have cloned out the moon (?) in the upper right. Beautiful as it is, in this particular framing it almost registers as a distraction rather than an enhancement. But that's a nit if ever there was one.

The raw power of that water is so palpable in this photo. I'm dying to know what equipment was used to capture it. If a drone, it seems dangerously far off-shore, especially if the winds are as fierce as those breakers suggest!

Awesome perspective. The panorama really enhances the impact, too. If only that construction equipment and disrupted earthworks in the foreground weren't so distracting... If it were me, and if I has access to this site again, I'd probably try coming back when the construction was complete--or maybe when there's some lovely autumn foliage to warm the foggy horizon line...

The dramatic first impression of this shot is undeniable and I've been trying to decide why it "works" so immediately. I think the person with the umbrella is key to that, and the fact that the pose of the individual obscures their face just enough to give them a sense of being "lost" in the landscape, thereby making the sheer vastness of those mountains and the power of the water flowing down them in the rain that much more obviously the subject of this perspective. Without the person, the landscape would almost register "flat," but instead it has depth and grandeur. It's truly stunning, and I imagine in full resolution as a large-format print would make a wonderful exhibition feature. Congrats on a well-earned blue!

This was one of my favs in the challenge. Love how something about the subjects' unsurprised, unhurried manner in this downpour combines with the framing of this composition to convey not only a striking candid moment, but also a real sense of place for the setting.

Superbly executed visual composition. Moody and surreal while still grounded and gritty. Love this sort of thing.

I wondered how this one would score. It was one of my favorites in this challenge because of how well it captures the kinesthetic energy of a good, heavy (but beneficial) rainfall. It does what my favorite stock photography does: hint at the subtle wonders of mundane reality while remaining practically useful for supporting a variety of storytelling uses. It's good to see that this kind of composition is rewarded this highly, because to me this is both beautiful on its own and commercially very marketable--that dream combo I find so hard to achieve in my own work. Congrats on the yellow!
