 i had had a not so great morning .
felt the urge to go out and take photos as that can often lift my mood .
was only a minute standing in the grass when i heard the distinct sound of a large robber fly ... the very small ones sound like a mosquito .. the larger they get the deeper their voices ..
it was flying and landed on the electric fence to consume it's prey which is probably another sort of fly judging by it's proboscis that appears to be fully extended ..

if you zoom in you can see the robber fly's proboscis piercing the thorax of the fly it's consuming ..

I got off a couple of photos and then it flew up high into a nearby tree .. wish it had been in the grass or somewhere more photogenic .. its all about location location .. lol ..
