Wondrous image of an everyday scene. The light, pouring in from two windows, is a tender blossom encompassing an eternal moment. The mom and child are so natural and appealing that it sets the world aright. The complicated composition comes together like clockwork, inevitable and satisfying. There's so much to see here that the eye dances along the many subtle lines, and is amply rewarded. Horizontally across the people. Vertically through the kitchen entranceway. From the artfully sectioned circle in the upper left, a secondary moon, to the mysteriously translucent chair finial on the center right. Then there's the jacket draped over the left-hand chair back, a promise of return.
The nine is from me. Why not a ten? Must've been off my meds.
One of my favorite family scenes of all time, and my personal favorite of the challenge. Thanks, Lynn. |
