 Ohhhhm'gosh! Blue! I am happy. I have always been very intimidated by free studies... and even more so the extended editing ones because of the incredible graphic talent I've seen here. This one was actually a very simple combination of 2 photos (one of the bird and one in a different area for the clouds). It required very little editing, so I'm surprised but very happy that it won. It's my first blue ribbon in a free study.

My favorite thing to do this time of year is watch these birds diligently build their nests right next to each other over the river. There are hundreds of them. So graceful! So communal! I watch them for the longest time and totally escape all the cares in my world!
