the composition and choice of soft focus/high contrast was deliberate, as I was going for a "revering the idol" perspective, and also wanted more of an iconographic shape of a cat, suggestive of a statue, rather than a fully-represented actual cat.

Bastet is a goddess of the ancient Egyptian religion, and a goddess of the home, domesticity, women's secrets, cats, fertility, and childbirth. She is often represented as a cat or cat/human hybrid.

I got really excited when I saw the title of this photo. I wish the clutter behind her was not visible, or at least cropped to her ears, so not showing the modern door frame or couch.
Some people are going to be like, 'oh a blurry cat, whohooo 'not'' 'or it is just for a PS award cus it is blurry and black and white, or they just shoved something into this challenge'.But it is obvious you thought about this beforehand. But with that title you took it to another level, and I think you should have done more to live up to that title.
And now I sound all bitchy and whiny, but I absolutely am infatuated with the Egyptian times. So sorry, but not really. Sorry again for that.

Sorry coming back to comment a bit more. If you had cropped it by the ears, it would have looked like plinths, that makes sense, it would have totally been a fabulous shot. But I bet people wouldn't have got it.
I am going to stop rambling now.
