    Biography: Here's my voting scale:

    Every photo starts with a 5. That is an average shot. Nothing great, nothing terrible about it. I will add points if the photo arouses some kind of emotion, thought, intrigue. The better it evokes the spirit of the challenge, the higher I will score it. If the title is particularly clever and enhances the shot, I will score higher. I don't give away too many 10's, I'll admit that, because in my opinion, a 10 is perfection and that's a rare rare thing. Conversely, points are taken away if the photo doesn't meet the challenge, if it is technically flawed enough to detract from the overall appeal, if it does nothing but "sit" there without generating any sense of art, if the title is shoe-horning it into the theme or if it is grossly unoriginal or boring. I'm not a photographer but I certainly know the difference between good and bad. I try to vote fairly and accordingly.
