Biography:

I am a crazy redheaded SAHMWC (stay at home mom with camera) who is really just getting into photography. We upgraded our camera when I found that our old camera didn't take enough frames per second to capture our very active toddler son's moves on film! Now I almost never miss a shot of him!!!

I am a former high school english teacher with a passion for graphic design and oil painting.

I'm learning so much from this site and all the members -- through looking at everyone's work and receiving cc on my challenge entries.

As of now, I'm finding that my interest in photography is people in their natural setting (i.e., not in a studio). I would like to learn how to capture people in their natural/unposed state. In their natural surrounds, doing what they do, being who they are. I love the work of jill freedman (especially her Ireland Forever book), and I aspire to capture those moments as she does. I would like to take photos that tell the story behind the person. I need tons of practice, that is for certain!!!! And, I still have a long way to go to learn about the technical aspect of photography. The good news is that I'm still young!!!

My husband is also a member (kongphooey), and we totally look forward to the weekly challenges to see who beats whom each week! I sadly must admit that he usually does beat me, but it sure is fun the times that I do score higher or get more comments!!! I aspire to (one day very soon) kick his ass with my scores.
