Biography: Wow. It's funny where life takes you.

I can hardly believe that the last time I put any significant effort into DPC was almost 4 years ago when I got started with school. Another life change approaches as school nears its end.

Over the past 4 years, I have taken a few thousand pictures at various performances, tried to hone my PS skills with class projects, led some PS workshops with the school's photo club and even dabbled a bit in video. Life has taken me back to my interest in things mechanical and I have begun working in media and web content generation for a bicycle company here in Taiwan. It is the first time in the last nearly 8 years in Taiwan where I have had the opportunity of collecting real substantial paychecks.

It has been tough. Not just financially.

As I was preparing to purchase a new toy, my grandmother decided that she wanted to help out as a grad present of sorts and made it possible for me to make my recent additions to my photo kit. She bought the 7D and 10-22 for me, but I also was able to purchase the 17-55 and the 100mm because of her generosity.

If you are interested in learning about Printers and mysterious DPI numbers used by marketing...

For some updated information about technologies released in September of 2006, try this thread called 'Printer Wars: Canon vs Epson'...

Want to know more about my Inverted Head setup on tripods for shooting panos? Check here.

I am also looking into cheap DIY methods of making sliders and track systems for movies.

As of September 2006, I have gone back to school. I am studying Spanish and Chinese at a University in central Taiwan.

I love to receive comments, so feel free to say what you like as long as it is sincere and preferably thought out.

    Other equipment that I own:
Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 with manual aperture control for reversed lens macro
Sigma 500 DG Super - 2 so far (plus one that I can borrow from a friend)

Tumax optical slave flash for digital
    Canon iP4300 printer
    Acer C302xci tablet PC
    Marumi ultra-thin multi-layer circular polarizer - 77mm
Cheap second polarizer - linear - 77mm - for effects
Cokin square filter system - P with some graduated ND's
    Seagull Angle Finder
LowePro Mini Trekker AW - HIGHLY recommended - tested in extended exposure to torrential rain.
Tripod with INVERTED HEAD mount and Velbon Magnesium QR plates.

Show the same images to a bunch of nursery-school kids and the distribution would be different, and THAT wouldn't define "intrinsic worth" either. - Bear Music
