    Biography: I am a researcher in Visualization, which is a subfield of computer graphics. That means that I try to come up with ways to make pictures from abstract data (e.g., stock prices, customer surveys, etc.), and also to provide interaction so that people can analyze the data visually. I guess that makes me a very visual person ;)

    Regarding my user name (just in case anybody's interested): It's pronounced "fish" - the idea is to take the "gh" from the word "tough", the "o" from "women", and to "ti" from "international" ;) This was invented by George Bernard Shaw to demonstrate how differently you can pronounce the same letters in english. I like that a lot, and it's also a username that is available on most sites ... so if you run into another ghoti somewhere, chances are that it's me ;)
